Some things to remember:
Smoking is allowed outside only. Please be conscious of wind direction, etc., to avoid impacting other guests.
Pets should be leashed or kept under your control at all times. Please never leave them alone in the cabin.
The fire pit by the stream is for your enjoyment. We often have firewood from brush clearing and clean-ups. If we don’t, firewood is sold in Phoenicia; please buy and burn locally to avoid transporting destructive insects.
Please learn to recognized poison ivy and avoid contact. This is from right side of the road down past the swimming hole. The three-leaf clusters are poison ivy.
Please note that there is wildlife, including non-aggressive black bears, in the area. Do not leave food, garbage, etc., outside the cabin at night as this may attract such wildlife. Please also familiarize yourself with the dangers of deer tick-borne Lyme Disease and the methods for protecting yourself against this.
The cabin is on a well and septic systems. Do not flush anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime.
Please be aware that we are in the New York City watershed and be considerate accordingly.
Outdoor showers are fantastic and environmentally friendly.
